The government of Afghanistan is set to host the sixth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA) on Thursday, spokesman for Afghan foreign ministry Ahmad Shukib Mustaghni has said.
During the two-day conference economic cooperation in the region, trade, business and the role of the private sector in boosting economic activities in the region would be discussed, Xinhua quoted Mustaghni as saying on Wednesday.
Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said on a different occasion that his government would do its best to turn Afghanistan into a regional economic hub for connecting central Asia to South Asia.
Ahead of the conference, all security measures have been put in place and police have been checking all vehicles entering Kabul city.
