AIADMK's "sacked" Deputy General Secretary T.T.V.Dinakaran, who leads one of the factions in Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK, on Monday said that the party cannot be controlled by sitting in the secretariat and having support of around 30 legislators.
He also said those who are demanding probe into the death of former Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa should be subject to probe.
Addressing a massive rally at Melur near Madurai, around 500 km from Chennai - to celebrate the centenary anniversary of party founder M.G.Ramachandran, he charged the party's ruling faction of kidnapping legislators who were planning to attend the rally.
"Why do you have to fear legislators attending this rally," he asked.
Sending out a warning signal to the ruling faction of AIADMK led by Chief Minister K. Palaniswami, he said the lawmakers alone do not constitute the party but it is the cadres who do so.
He said with a handfull of legislators, they cannot control the party.
He urged the legislators not to act like a boss of party cadres but function like their servants and fulfill the needs of their constituency.
Referring to the demand of probe into the circumstances that led to the death of Jayalalithaa by former Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam who is leading another faction, Dinakaran welcomed it but said they too have to face the probe as they were in power at that time.
According to Dinakaran, if only they had wished, then General Secretary V.K.Sasikala could have nominated him or anybody in the family to be the Chief Minister instead of Palaniswami.
Urging party MPs to meet the central ministers and get the good schemes of the central government to the state, he said that the state government should have a friendly relations with the central government.
He also said the party has to get back the two leaves symbol and fight the Lok Sabha polls in 2019.
