The Congress on Thursday named Ajay Singh as Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh state Assembly. Former union minister Singh is the son of late veteran Congress leader Arjun Singh.
Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson K.K. Mishra confirmed the development to IANS.
This will be the second stint as Leader of Opposition for Singh who also served as minister in a previous Digvijay Singh-led government in the state.

The post of leader of Opposition was vacant since the death of Satyadev Katare in October last year.
In a meeting with Congress leader Ajay Maken on February 20, the Congress MLAs from the state had decided that the name for the post would be finalised by party President Sonia Ganhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
