Gurtej Singh Ghuriana, a three-time legislator from Balluana Assembly constituency in Punjab, has returned to the Akali Dal after he left the party in 2017.
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal welcomed him back to the party on Thursday.
Ghuriana, who twice served as the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, moved to the Congress when the Akali Dal fielded his rival Parkash Singh Bhatti in the 2017 polls from Balluana in Fazilka district.
He had won the Assembly elections in 1997, 2007 and 2012.
