Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Wednesday wrote to the central urban development minister to expedite the extension of the Delhi Metro Rail service in the state's National Capital Region (NCR).

In a letter to Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath, the chief minister requested prompt approvals for extending the rail service from Delhi's Dilshad Garden to Ghaziabad, from Kalindi Kunj to Botanical Garden and from Noida to Greater Noida.

Yadav said that prompt approvals of these projects will help in smoothening public transport and enhancing comprehensive development of the state in the NCR.
