Parsi filmmaker Jamshid Roointon says his short-feature film "Akuri... And a Pinch of Hope" is a Parsi approach to life.
"Akuri? And a Pinch of Hope" is a tribute to the Irani cafe culture.
Roointon told IANS: "The film is overall a very Parsi approach to life. You generally see Parsis are very happy-go-lucky, the lead character is also a Parsi and also has that approach, taking everything with a pinch of salt, making the best out of everything.
"Akuri is basically Parsi style egg-bhurji. The protagonist who meets at the Irani cafe in the film compares Akuri to life. While talking, this man changes the other person's perspective about things completely," he added.
"Akuri? And a Pinch of Hope" released on March 20.
Produced under Axis Jump Films, the film, was released digitally by Humaramovie, featuring Darshan Gokani, Sushant Kandya and critically acclaimed veteran actor Firdaus Mevawalla.
The director says the film is about the fact there is "too much of stress in life and everyone is going through one thing or the other. So now need to take things little easier and probably not live life so seriously and take a positive approach".
"With every negative or with every bad thing going on in our lives, somewhere something positive is happening," he said.
The movie's title song "Hope ki rope" has been penned and composed by Shubhankar, while singer Shaan has lent his voice to it.
