Spanish Formula One driver Fernando Alonso has declared that his "only goal" is to be world champion with McLaren-Honda.
"I believe in this project, I'm committed and I want to be world champion with McLaren-Honda. That's my only goal," Alonso said at the headquarters of the English team on Tuesday, according to Efe.
Alonso was rumoured as a possible substitute at Mercedes for Nico Rosberg, who announced his retirement a few days after being proclaimed F1 world champion.
The 35-year-old, a two-time world champion with Renault F1 team in 2005 and 2006, is contracted to McLaren until the end of 2017.
