A second string Indian squad ended their archery World Cup fourth leg campaign with a single bronze, finishing third in the men's compound event.
The team of Sarvesh Pareek, Sandeep Kumar and Isaiah Rajender Sanam, ousted higher ranked Venezuela outfit 231-222 in the bronze medal match here on Sunday night.
The Indians were in total control over the encounter right from the very beginning. After an evenly matched first set at 58-58, the Indian troika edged ahead in the second at 57-54. They took the last two sets too without to many problems carding 58 twice in reply to the rivals' 53.
The Indians also hit the bulls eye five times in the contest whereas the Venezuelan trio of Nelson Torres, Leandro Rojas and Eduardo Gonzalez could manage only three.
In the compound mixed team event where they could have had clinched another bronze, the Indian outfit consisting of Sarvesh and Trisha Deb lost to United States Of America's (USA) Lexi Keller and Reo Wilde, 150-156.
The Indian pair remained behind for the first two sets with the score reading 40-38, 40-34 in favour of their rivals. Trisha and Sarvesh then tried making a comeback in the third with a 40-38 and then drew the last set 38-38. But their efforts were just not enough to get them the bronze.
