BJP lawmaker from Rajasthan Arjun Ram Meghwal on Tuesday cycled up the Raisina Hill to the Rashtrapati Bhavan for his swearing-in as Union Minister of State. He said he was "happy cycling" as it will encourage others too to switch over to environment-friendly mode of travelling.

"I have been cycling to Parliament and other places for quite some time now. It is good," the Bikaner MP told reporters outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Meghwal, a former Indian Administrative Service officer, regularly pedals to parliament. No wonder that on Tuesday too he rode a bicycle for the swearing-in ceremony.

Meghwal was followed by some of his admirers and supporters, including Bharatiya Janata Party workers, giving a tough time to security personnel who could be seen running to keep pace with the shadow union minister.

A video of Meghwal cycling to the Rashtrapati Bhavan has since gone viral on microblogging site Twitter.

On April 20, during enforcement of the odd-even traffic scheme by the Delhi government, the 63-year-old lawmaker registered his protest against the Aam Aadmi Party-led government's move and tried to send a message by cycling to parliament.
