Troops and police on Friday launched a search operation in Kunjwani area of Jammu city after receiving information about "suspicious movement" in the Jammu and Kashmir winter capital.
Army spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta told IANS that Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) of the army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the police conducted the search operation.
"The SOG conducted the search while the QRTs stood by in readiness," he said. "The operation was started to re-assure the locals and sanitize the area."
All sensitive installations in and around Jammu city have been put on high alert ahead of the country's Independence Day on August 15.
