Assam Assembly Speaker Ranjit Kumar Dass called on the DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday to discuss the Assam floods and the devastation caused by it.
Dass informed Singh that all the ministers in the state government were making all efforts to mitigate the suffering of the people affected by floods.
During the meeting Dass was told that there will be no dearth of cooperation from the Centre in rehabilitating the affected people during the floods.
"Dass also brought to the notice of Jitendra Singh the project relating to the construction of a two-lane Railway Over-bridge in Barpeta district under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) funds of the DoNER ministry," said an official statement.
Dass apprised Singh about the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which had already been sent by the Assam government and was personally following up the matter.
