Spanish football club Athletic Club Bilbao Thursday signed Alaves striker Borja Viguera on a three-year contract.
The 27-year-old was the top scorer in the Spanish Liga Adelante (second division) last season with 25 goals and was a key factor in helping his side avoid relegation on the last day of the season, reports Xinhua.
He cost Athletic just one million euros and will be presented to the press and supporters Friday.
Viguera was born in the city of Logrono, but fits into Athletic's policy of signing only players born or raised in the Basque region as he came through the youth system at Real Sociedad.
The striker's arrival will give Athletic greater options in attack as they prepare to return to the Champions League after finishing last season in an impressive fourth place.
