The phenomenal success of Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu action-drama "Attarintiki Daaredhi" has attracted eyeballs of leading producers who have expressed interest to remake the film in Tamil.
"Nobody has bought the remake rights yet but several producers have expressed interest in the remake. A leading producer of Tamil movies is keen to remake the film with a top star. The official announcement may be made soon once all the formalities are finished," a source close to producer B.V.S.N. Prasad told IANS.
"I have been told that actor Vijay has expressed interest in the remake. I can't confirm anything at the moment because talks are still on. We can expect something concrete in about two weeks," the source added.
Over the years, Vijay has starred in the Tamil remakes of Telugu films such as "Okkadu", "Pokkiri", "Athanokkade" and "Nuvvu Naaku Nachavu".
"Attarintiki Daaredhi", which released Sep 27, has reportedly minted over Rs.40 crore worldwide. It also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Nadhiya and Boman Irani.
The film is directed by Trivikram, who collaborated with Pawan Kalyan for the second time after Telugu blockbuster "Jalsa".
