Australia annihilate South Africa in first Test

Australia demolished South Africa by 281 runs here Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series.

Set a mammoth 482-run target, South Africa folded up for 200 in their second innings on day four.

Mitchell Johnson took his second consecutive five wicket haul, ending with 12 wickets in the game.

Earlier Saturday, Australia declared their second innings at 290 for four, adding only two runs to their overnight score.

David Warner, Steven Smith and Shaun Marsh scored centuries for Australia in the match.

The second Test begins at Port Elizabeth Feb 20.
