Australia reach 503/9 till tea on second day

Australia reached 503 for nine till tea on the second day of the second Test against India at the Gabba here Friday.

Skipper Steven Smith scored 133 while Mitchell Johnson made 88 as the hosts took a 95-run lead in the first innings. Mitchell Starc (batting 51) and Josh Hazzlewood frustrated the Indians with an unbeaten 49-run partnership for the 10th wicket.

Indian medium pacer Ishant Sharma dismissed Smith, Mitchell Marsh (11) and Johnson.
