Australia women's cricket team vice-captain Alex Blackwell on Friday sent out prayers on behalf of the whole team to those affected by the flyover collapse here a day before.
A portion of an under-construction flyover near Posta collapsed on Thursday afternoon killing 24 people and injuring more than 100 others.
"Firstly I would just like to, on behalf of the Southern Stars, give our thought and prayers to the families affected by the bridge collapse here in Kolkata, which we learnt about when we arrived, we saw all the emergency crews working and so all our thoughts are with them," Blackwell told media persons here.
Australia are in search of their fourth consecutive World T20 women's title. They will face the West Indies in the final at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
