A 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver died after falling from a flyover when his vehicle was hit by a speeding car here on Sunday morning, police said.
Mohd. Shakil, a resident of Sangam Vihar in south Delhi, died just a few minutes after he fell from the Moolchand flyover in south Delhi around 5 a.m.
"A speeding car hit the auto-rickshaw on the Moolchand flyover and overturned. The impact was so strong that the auto-rickshaw driver lost his grip on the handle and was thrown into the air. He fell from the flyover and came crashing down to the ground," Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh told IANS.
Police said the errant car driver has been arrested and booked on charges of rash and negligent driving.
