Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed that Brazilian Neymar won't be allowed to play in both the Copa America and the Olympic Games this summer and he will have to choose one of the two football competitions.
Bartomeu on Friday said that the club sent a letter to the Brazilian Confederation which said respectfully that elite players need rest, for the good of the club and for the good of their countries, reports Efe.
He added that if Barcelona had to choose between the two tournaments, it would be the Olympic Games because the Copa America will be played again soon.
The president said he understands that Neymar wants to participate in both competitions and was in favour of further dialogue with him and the Brazilian Confederation to find the best solution.
