The West Bengal government has constituted a task force to prepare a comprehensive roadmap to develop tourism destinations in the state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said here Wednesday.

"A task force has been constituted with representatives of the central and state governments and all stakeholders in the tourism industry to prepare a comprehensive roadmap to develop tourism destinations of Bengal," said Banerjee.

The chief minister held a meeting with officials of the civil aviation department, DGCA, Airports Authority of India, and representatives of major domestic and international airlines, hotels and tour operators, regarding promotion of tourism in Bengal and operating more flights out of Kolkata Airport.

"Almost all the airlines expressed their interest to increase flight frequency or begin new operations or touch new destinations out of Kolkata. Discussions took place extensively on huge tourism potential of Bengal and how to market the state's tourism to the world market in the best possible way," Banerjee said.
