Sesa Football Academy (SFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sukhwinder Singh here on Wednesday hailed former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia for providing the academy with crucial advice for success.
Bhaichung is part of the academy's advisory panel.
"Bhaichung sits with us every month and he has given us inputs over the last three months, as to what he believes is the critical point for success and failure for the academy," Singh told IANS
Singh also said that the former India captain has advised the academy players to play more games.
"He (Bhaichung Bhutia) also told the boys to play enough games. He also told the scouting network ... no matter how much you train the boys, they should pull out the best," the former India coach said.
The academy has produced several footballers who play in the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League.
Denzil Fraco, who plays as a defender for ISL club FC Goa alongwith midfielder Sahil Tavora and centre-back Adil Khan of I-League club Churchill Brothers were part of this academy.
Singh, however, wants the club to produce at least one world class player.
"Our club aims to produce at least one global-level footballer and we are working hard on that," the former India midfielder said.
SFA President Ananya Agrawal also claimed that his academy has the best infrastructure in Goa.
"The uniqueness of our club is that it has the best infrastructure. We have 16 years of track record and brand equity," Agrawal said.
SFA recently selected 22 boys from different parts of the country and the African nation of Zambia to train at their academy.
