Former India skipper Bhaichung Bhutia Saturday criticised city football giants East Bengal for sacking Armando Colaco in the middle of their I-League campaign.
"Don't think it is fair to sack a coach after just six matches. That means the club officials made a wrong decision in picking the coach in the first place. One should have given some more time to Colaco," he said.
Bhutia who wishes to retire from football in a "red and gold" jersey said he is ready to help out the club if needed. East Bengal presently are sixth in the I-League table after two wins from six matches.
"Even if I am not playing I would like to sit with the team and discuss. I'll be happy if I can help them out in anyway," he said.
Bhutia, 38, who will be joining East Bengal sometime in March added he would love to play the derbies again but needed to prove his fitness first.
"For me, I'm just coming back to retire. I would love to play the derby and be fit enough. I can't run around with a stick. Hopefully I would join sometime in March," he said.
