New Delhi, April 24 (IANS) A traffic constable escaped unhurt after he was fired upon when he tried to stop three people who were riding a motorcycle without wearing helmets Wednesday evening, police said.
"The incident happened at Preet Vihar in east Delhi. Traffic constable Monu was manning a traffic signal when he saw the motorcyclists, with no helmets and riding three to a motorcycle. He tried to stop them, but they sped away," a police officer told IANS.
After a few minutes, the three returned to open fire on Monu, who escaped unhurt, the officer said.
Police said a hunt had been launched to nab the men. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the three.
