Blogging web site Wordpress.com is no longer accessible in Pakistan, a media report said Monday.

The website was inaccessible on Sunday, but there was no official statement from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on whether the ban was official or not, Dawn online reported.

Wordpress is a blogging platform that also allows internet users to create their own web sites via easy-to-use templates.

Thousands of Pakistanis and several Pakistan-based businesses use Wordpress to host their blogs and web sites.

The Pakistani government has banned video-sharing web site YouTube since February 22, 2008 due to non-Islamic objectionable videos.
