Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario will return to Real Madrid as an advisor to president Florentino Perez and as a global ambassador for the club.
Ronaldo will rejoin Los Blancos in September, Spanish sports daily Marca reported on Wednesday.
Ronaldo's wish to return to Real Madrid was the contributing factor in Perez's decision to hire the Brazilian, who joined the Merengues in August 2002, reports Efe.
The former international's return to Madrid was on the table for years, but with Brazil hosting both the World Cup in 2014 and Olympic Games in 2016, the return has not been possible until now.
Ronaldo played for Real Madrid between 2002 and 2007, scoring 104 goals in 177 games.
