Late singer-songwriters David Bowie and Leonard Cohen have been nominated posthumously for the 2017 Brit Awards.
Bowie, who died in January 2016, has received two nominations -- in the British male solo artist and British album of the year categories, while Cohen has been nominated in the International male solo artist section, telegraph.co.uk reported.
Bowie qualified for a nomination because his "Blackstar" album was released and hit the Top 40 during the required dates for the award category.
The list, announced on Saturday, is topped by Skepta and Little Mix, who have three nominations each.
Skepta is nominated for British male solo artist, British breakthrough act and British album of the year for "Konnochiwa", while Little Mix features in the British Group, British single and British artist video of the year categories.
Popular band One Direction got one nomination for "History", in the British artist video of the year category.
Adele, who won four awards in 2016, also received only one nomination in the same category for "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)".
The International Female Solo Artist category features sisters Beyonce Knowles and Solange Knowles in competition, and Rihanna has received her sixth nomination in this category. She has previously won the award twice, telegraph.co.uk reported.
The Brit Awards 2017, to be hosted by singer Michael Buble hosts this year's Brit Awards, will be held on February 22 at The O2 here.
Little Mix will be part of a star-studded line-up of performers, which will include Emeli Sande and The 1975. Singer Robbie Williams will also be present as he will be honoured with The Brits Icon Award.
The event will also pay tribute to Bowie, George Michael and late Beatles producer George Martin -- who the industry lost in 2016.
