A 25-year-old man was killed and his brother was seriously injured when a group of around five armed men opened fire on them following a heated argument, said police Friday.
The assailants approached Mohammed Kayam when he was standing in front of his house in east Delhi's Nand Nagari area Thursday night along with his elder brother Mohammed Imran, 30 and opened indiscriminate fire.
Both the victims were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital where Kayam was declared brought dead while Imran is battling for his life.
"Prima facie it seems to be a case of personal enmity as the investigators found a lead of rift with one of their neighbours who is suspected to have hatched the conspiracy," said a police officer.
The officer said no one has been arrested so far as further investigations are underway to identify the culprits.
