The Border Security Force (BSF) Wednesday arrested a man and seized gold worth Rs.85 lakh from West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, an official statement said.

Acting on intelligence inputs, BSF troopers nabbed Noor Islam Mullah from the Hakimpur check post in the district and seized 24 gold biscuits weighing 2.8 kg.

The accused and the seized gold were handed over to police for further investigation.

The BSF this year has seized over three kilos of the yellow metal from the region.
