The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the agreement for cooperation between Indian Space Research Organisation and United States Geological Survey for exchange and use of satellite data.
"The cabinet has been apprised of the MoU signed between Indian Space Research Organisation and United States Geological Survey for cooperation in the exchange and use of the US Land Remote Sensing Satellite Data," said a cabinet communique.
The agreement was signed on July 9 in Bengaluru.
"This MoU will enable ISRO to receive USGS's Landsat-7 & 8 in India and USGS to receive ISRO's Resourcesat-2 (AWiFS and LISS III) data of US region," it added.
