Cameroon's football team head coach Martin Felix Ndtoungou Mpile has named his squad that will face Uganda in an international build-up game in Jinja, eastern Uganda, on January 13, ahead of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled from January 16 to February 7.
Mpile on Monday named 26 players who will play against Rwanda in another build-up game on Wednesday before heading to Uganda.
Uganda FA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson told Xinhua on Monday that they have already received the list of the Cameroon squad. Before facing Cameroon, Uganda will host Gabon in Jinja in another build-up game.
"Facing Gabon and Cameroon in build-up games will be very good for us because they have similar style of play like Mali and Zimbabwe who are in our group at the tournament," said Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic.
Sredojevic said he has set his target for the quarter-final stage at the 2016 CHAN scheduled to be held in neighbouring Rwanda. Three different towns of Kigali, Butare, Gisenyi will host the matches.
The CHAN tournament is exclusively for players who are active in the national championships and qualified to play in the ongoing season. Professional players regardless of where they play, even in Africa, are not qualified to take part in the tournament.
The 2016 event will attract hosts Rwanda, Gabon, Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire, DR Congo, Angola, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Niger, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Morocco.
Defending champions Libya and the 2014 runners-up Ghana will not be at this year's event after failing to make it through the qualifiers last year.
The squad: Hugo Nyame, Abogo Pierre, Anye Derrick, Mbimbe Aaron, Mohammed Djetei, Kombi Mandjang, Kingue Mpondo, Ngwem Joseph, Manga Mba, Owona Mbassegue, Atangana Mvondo, Zock a Bep Christian, Oum Gout, Moumi Ngemaleu, Mogou Ghislain, Ambane Mombourou, Ojong Nkongho, Atouba Yazid, Ngondji Ngondji Armel, Souleymanou Moussa, Nlend Samuel, Ngah Ronald, Boya Frank.
