The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed two fresh chargesheets in Guna and Gwalior courts against six people in two cases related to the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, officials said.

The chargesheet in the first case named five persons while the chargesheet in the second case mentioned only one name for their alleged involvement in the Pre-Medical Test (PMT) 2010 and 2009, respectively.

Both the examinations were conducted by Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam) or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).

In both cases, the accused persons were booked on charges of impersonation, cheating and forgery under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections of the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examinations Act 1937.

The chargesheet in the first case was filed in the court of a special judge for Vyapam cases, Guna in Madhya Pradesh, naming two impersonators, two middlemen and one candidate identified as Mohd. Imran, Rajesh Prasad, Suresh Kumar Patel, Vedratan and Deepak Kumar Prajapati, respectively.

The investigation against one absconding candidate in this case has been kept open in the case, an official said.

In the second case, a chargesheet was filed against a private person Monica Yadav (candidate) in a Gwalior court in Madhya Pradesh.

"The findings are based on the investigation done by the CBI on the basis of evidence," a CBI official said.

The Supreme Court on July 9, 2015, handed over the Vyapam cases to the central agency.

At least 48 people linked to the Vyapam scam have died, some mysteriously.

The CBI has till now registered 155 FIRs and 14 chargesheets in the Vyapam scam.

The agency registered its first Vyapam case on July 16, 2015.
