The CBI has nabbed an assistant general manager of the Bank Of Baroda here when he was accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a complainant, an official said on Saturday.
A representative of a Thane-based private company, appointed by the bank to recover bad debts, approached the CBI with a complaint that the bank official was allegedly demanding a bribe to pass their bills.
Accordingly a trap was laid and the accused assistant general manager, Asset Recovery & Management Branch, at Ballard Pier in Mumbai was caught while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant here on Friday.
The CBI searched the office and residence of the accused and recovered Rs.300,000 in cash and 100 gram gold ornaments and other documents.
