Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday picked up a badminton racquet to play with Olympic silver medallist P. V. Sindhu.
Naidu played for a few moments with the star shuttler on the dais of a function organised by the state government to felicitate her. Hundreds of people including students cheered the duo.
Keeping all the protocol aside, Naidu came to Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to personally felicitate Sindhu and her coach Pullela Gopichand.
A leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had a surprise for Naidu when he handed over a racquet and shuttle to him and another racquet to Sindhu.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu lavished praise on Sindhu, saying she gave hope to India when there was concern that the country may draw a blank in medals' tally.
