FC Goa co-owner Dattaraj Salgaocar filed a complaint against Chennaiyin FC marquee player Elano, accusing the latter of assaulting him after the Indian Super League (ISL) final, police said.
The complaint filed by Salgaocar at Margao police station on Sunday says that former Brazil international assaulted him after the presentation ceremony that was held at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Fatorda, 35 km from Panaji.
The Goa team lost 3-2 in a close-fought encounter on Sunday to the Chennai-based outfit.
Police Inspector C.L. Patil said that the complaint had been filed under Indian Penal Code Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 504 (intentional insult with intent to cause breach of peace).
