China gets 10 new generals

China has promoted 10 senior military and armed police officers to generals, the highest rank for officers in active service in the country.

The officers China's Central Military Commission (CMC) included Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Wang Guanzhong, deputy head of the PLA's General Political Department Yin Fanglong as well as PLA Navy Political Commissar Miao Hua.

At Friday's promotion ceremony, Chinese President and CMC Chairman Xi Jinping presented the officers with certificates of command, reported Xinhua.
