China will set up a huge helicopter manufacturing base capable of building up to 400 helicopters in a year.
People's Daily reported that Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp tied up with the China Helicopter Industry Development Association (CHIDA), the United States and the China Foundation (USCF) for an agreement to build a large helicopter manufacturing base in Xinjiang.
To be manufactured are a range of helicopters, luxury business machines and those for police and medical use.
The project, which is expecting over 10 billion yuan investment, is targeting an annual yield of 300 to 400 helicopters.
