Just a week after a CISF trooper foiled a suicide bid by a woman in the Delhi metro, another woman trooper from the same force prevented two women commuters from ending their lives, an official said Monday.

Geeta Yadav, a constable with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) noticed two women commuters moving towards platform number-1 of west Delhi's Nawada metro station around 1.55 p.m Sunday.

Becoming suspicious, she rushed towards them. "Yadav obstructed both the women commuters from moving towards the track with the help of other commuters and caught them," a CISF official said.

"The two women were actually mother and daughter. They were brought to the station control room where they revealed that domestic problems had driven them to the metro station with the intention of suicide," the official said.

The two women were identified as Parvati, 50, resident of east Delhi's Nand Nagar and Puja, 27, resident of west Delhi's Dwarka (Sector-3). The two were later handed over to the railway police.

"In a written statement to Delhi Police, Parvati claimed that her daughter fainted and she was only trying to save her," a police officer said.

On Sep 15, another alert CISF constable, Rupam Boro, prevented a 19-year-old woman, a Delhi University student, from taking her life at west Delhi's Rajouri Garden metro station.
