A class 12 student on Monday leaped to death from the fifth floor of the apartment block she lived in with her parents here, police said.
The girl was a student of Ahlcon International School in Delhi's Mayur Vihar and was due to appear for her physics exam later in the day.
She lived with her father G.K. Rai, a revenue official with the state government, and mother Sadhna.
Police said the deceased woke up early to get ready for the exam but jumped off the fifth floor. She was rushed to a nearby medical facility where she was declared brought dead.
No suicide note was found and the police are probing the case to ascertain the reason for her extreme step.
