Congress leader and former UPA minister Krishna Tirath is likely to join the BJP following her meeting with its president Monday.

After meeting Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah Monday, Tirath said: "My role in the party (BJP) would be decided by the president. But my mandate remains public service."

The former minister for women and child development in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA-II) government was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Delhi on a Congress ticket after defeating BJP's Meera Kanwaria.
