Lucknow and many parts of Uttar Pradesh woke up to a pleasant weekend Saturday, as clouds hovered above and cool winds blew across the city. Many cities in the state have reported rain.

Weathermen said relatively pleasant weather would continue for a day or two, bringing respite from the sizzling heat wave.

The minimum temperature in the morning was 24 degrees Celsius, and day temperatures are likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius, the met office said.

Rain was reported in parts of central Uttar Pradesh, with Kanpur and Gorakhpur getting the maximum rain late Friday.

The met office has also said that dust storms could occur in some places in the evening.
