An Assistant Commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from Uri area in the Kashmir Valley was electrocuted in Jharkhand.
CPRF sources said Jeelani Khan, 29, belonging to Manzgam village in Uri, was posted with the 157 Battalion of CRPF at Arki in Khunti district of Jharkhand.
The sources said he was supervising repair of electric wires when the tragedy took place on Monday. "A live electric wire fell off, as a result of which the officer was electrocuted," a source said.
The officer was shifted to Ranchi for specialized treatment but he could not be revived.
