Bollywood dialogue writer Niranjan Iyengar, whose last big screen project was the recently released "D-Day", is now busy writing his first TV show "Jee Le Zara". He feels it's nice change for him.
"I have never done TV before. I'm getting into it for the first time. I've written the storyline for a Sony channel's show called 'Jee Le Zara'. It will start in August," Iyengar told IANS.
"It feels nice to be a part of a nice, soft romantic drama after (action-based) 'D-Day'," he added.
In Bollywood, Iyengar has penned dialogues for movies like "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna", "Fashion", "My Name Is Khan", "Heroine" and "Student Of The Year", admits writing for the big screen and small screen is "poles apart".
"It is very different. The grammar is different. Secondly, it requires a great deal of discipline. Also, when you do a film, there is a screenplay writer, dialogue writer and director.
"These people give inputs on how the film will be. In TV, there a lot of people who have inputs. To counter this and fight for what you have written, is a challenge," he said.
Nevertheless, he says he is enjoying the process thoroughly for now. And he is not sure if he will want to pick up another show in the future.
"I've enjoyed this process. I am working with friends. I don't plan to write any other show right now," he said.
Meanwhile, he has also been roped in to write the last eight episodes for TV show "24".
"I am doing the last eight episodes of '24' with Renzil (Rensil D'Silva). It is with friends, so I am protected and having loads of fun," he said.
