Actress Daniele Watts was reportedly briefly detained by two police officers after she was seen engaging in public display of affection (PDA) with her boyfriend here.
According to Los Angeles police, officers responded to a citizen's complaint about indecent exposure. A nearby resident claimed that a white male and black female were involved in a sexual act inside a silver Mercedes Benz with the door open, reports eonline.com.
However, the "Django Unchained" star has said that nothing inappropriate had occurred.
"I was handcuffed and detained?after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place," she posted on Facebook.
"When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn't harming anyone, so I walked away," she added.
A few minutes later, Watts said police forced her into handcuffs and moved her into the back of a police car. Her boyfriend, Brian, added that the actress refused to give her ID to police "because they had no right to do so."
"I could tell that whoever called on us (including the officers), saw a tatted RAWKer white boy and hot bootie shorted black girl and thought we were a HO (prostitute) & a TRICK (client)," he posted on Facebook.
During the investigation, police officials said Watts and her boyfriend were detained and it was determined that no crime was committed. The individuals were later released.
