Global firm DB Schenker were Thursday announced as the official logistics provider for the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be held here in July-August.
The company will provide warehouse space and operations including staff and equipment and freight transportation services. They will also provide an end-to-end service for CWG.
DB Schenker was the official provider at two previous CWGs in Manchester (2002) and Melbourne (2006) and were also an exclusive supplier at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
"We are very proud to be the Official Logistics Provider to Glasgow 2014. We have a strong association with the CWG having been the provider at Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006. So it is exciting for our team to once again work with CWG. Our team here is committed to ensure that Glasgow 2014 will always fulfil its tactical priorities," Schenker Ltd. chief executive Helgi Ingolfsson said.
