A special one-day session of the Delhi Assembly will be held here on Wednesday to approve the Guest Teachers' Regularisation Bill.
On September 27, the Delhi Cabinet had okayed the Bill, which will make 15,000 guest teachers in government schools permanent.
Meanwhile, Delhi High Court had ordered that status quo be maintained and "not either appoint or promote the guest teachers till October 11".
Out of 17,000 guest teachers, 15,000 teachers, who will be made permanent as per the provisions of the Bill, had passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test and the remaining 2,000 will continue as guest teachers.
