A 22-year-old cab driver was arrested for killing his girlfriend here after a verbal spat, police said on Thursday.
The police said Ajay Hooda strangled Sapna, 23, on August 3 at her rented flat in Santosh Park area of west Delhi's Uttam Nagar. He was arrested within hours of the crime from Vikaspuri area, also in west Delhi, police said.
"The woman's body was found in her bedroom with ligature mark on her neck," Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Vijay Singh told reporters.
Hooda had married a month ago while he came in know Sapna six months ago.
"When Sapna learnt about his relations with another woman and subsequent marriage, she objected and began pressurising Hooda to divorce his wife and marry her," the officer said.
"He murdered Sapna in a fit of rage and took her mobile, jewellery items and Rs 30,000 from her house," he added.
