New Delhi, April 25 (IANS) The Delhi government Thursday decided to set up a committee of secretaries to decide the modalities of allotting flats to the urban poor under the Rajiv Ratna Awas Yojana.
"We have decided to constitute a committee of... secretaries comprising principal secretary (finance), principal secretary (law) and secretary (urban development) to finalise modalities of allotment," Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said here.
The cabinet has asked the committee to submit its recommendations within couple of weeks.
The chief minister also said that applications were invited under Rajiv Ratna Awas Yojana from urban poor for allotment of low cost flats in the capital city.
"Thousands of constructed flats are ready for allotment, hence, the city government had decided to initiate allotment of low-cost houses to the eligible applicants," she added.
