A court here on Friday rejected the bail plea of a suspected member of the Islamic State (IS), Naseer Packers, arrested on the charge of motivating youths to join the terror outfit.

During in-camera proceedings, District Judge Amar Nath rejected the bail application of Packers by observing that investigation was still on in the case.

The court also allowed the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) plea and granted it 30 more days to conduct its investigation.

The court fixed May 6 for the next hearing in the case.

In January, Packers and 14 other suspects were picked up by the NIA in cooperation with respective state police during raids at 12 locations in six cities across the country.

All the accused were booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on the charge of conspiracy and planning with associates and IS handlers to motivate the Indian youth to join the Islamic State.

On February 5, the court had remanded Naseer in judicial custody along with Abu Anas, Mohammed Afzal and Imran Khan Pathan.
