The Delhi government on Friday took part in 'Bharat Parv' - a six-day event to celebrate Independence Day - here after a last-minute invite from the central government.
Delhi Tourism and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra told IANS that he decided to take part in the festival after Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma invited him at the eleventh hour.
"Sharma called me half an hour ago and asked me to attend Bharat Parv," Mishra said.
The event will showcase handicrafts, folk dances and cuisines of various states. It was inaugurated by Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar.
