Delhi LG appeals for organ donations

An organ donated is better than an organ consigned to flames or buried after death, Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung said Tuesday while making a public appeal for a generous organ donation.

Jung was speaking at the inauguration of one-day organ transplant conference in the capital where he launched e-reporting portal related to the organ donation.

Jung and his wife are organ donors themselves.

He also released a compendium on organ transplantation.

Jung stressed the need to evolve a foolproof mechanism to create public awareness about organ donation and encouraging students early in their career through introduction of organ donation in school curriculum.
