Delhi man sets himself afire

A 30-year-old man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire after his family did not let him marry his girlfriend and arranged his marriage with another woman, said a police officer.

Prakash, who works in a private company, poured kerosene on himself and set himself on fire around 10 p.m. in a street outside his house in Kilokari village in south Delhi Tuesday.

"Neighbours doused the fire but he received 50 percent burn injuries. He was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital," said a police officer.
